Making the circle Biga!!!

What a delightful venue with divine food in a beautiful setting…

Did you know Biga is a type of pre-fermentation used in Italian baking and this is what Biga Café is all about. Biga Café situated next to Hornbill Guest House and Art Gallery in the Hemel en Aarde Village - Hermanus. Baking fresh breads, tartlets and much more daily this is the perfect Café to enjoy a slice of decadence, or a divine lunch.

When you walk into the Deli you feel as if you have stepped into a European Cafe, with the aroma of fresh breads baking and coffee brewing you can’t wait to be seated and to dig into something delicious. We were welcomed by Hanli Carstenson the co-owner and were ushered into the lovely outside seating area.

Their menu offers freshly baked quiches, burgers, fillets, garden fresh salads – the choice is yours. They have a great variety of deliciously different vegetarian options which is an absolute bonus for me and my fellow veggies out there!!! In the Deli you can buy locally made olive oil, preserves & baked goodies to take home and enjoy.

We love, love, love our good times at Biga Café, Bakery and Deli
