With Mountain Biking fast becoming one of the most popular sports in South Africa, the Hemel en Aarde Valley is ideal for both novice and experienced riders to enjoy some of the most picturesque routes in Hermanus offering spectacular scenery for those who prefer spending an afternoon enjoying fresh mountain air or discovering the majestic Hemel en Aarde Wine Route. If you can't bring your own equipment, local bike shops rent out whatever you require. Fernkloof Nature Reserve offers a 17km circular trail which is signposted and may be joined at any point within the Fernkloof Nature Reserve. Mountain Biking offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of Hermanus and incredible scenery, off the beaten track.

Wine tours with mountain bikes offer an adventure of cycling and exclusive wine tasting with some of the best Pinotages and Sauvignon Blancs in the region. The tour is about 10km and most of it downhill so don’t stress if you are not super fit. Riding between vineyards and past lakes with beautiful scenery.
