The Whale Crier is calling on all Whale lovers “The Whales are Here”

The Whale Crier strolls along the cliffs of Walker Bay and trumpets his kelp horn to alert onlookers as to where he has spotted the majestic Southern Right Whales frolicking in the bay.

We have had some magnificent whale sightings in Walker Bay and love to share them with our Guests. We have spotted as many as 30 whales in one afternoon. Wow, they were so active and we saw a full four time breach, absolutely breath taking. The juveniles have been incredibly active – practicing their mating rituals. They tumble and turn in the ocean playing in groups of up to eight and sometimes even more. It is truly delightful to watch, not only the whales but also the awe on the faces of the many tourists young and old, the excitement is tangible.
Mountain View Manor is the place to be this Whale Season so put it in your diary and come and spend a weekend or midweek with us and we guarantee that you will fall in love with our beautiful Manor, our Whales and Hermanus.
